He made a tremendous impact on the participants by his "down to earth" real life stories. We in CBMC of South Dakota have hosted two community prayer breakfasts with him, and also used him as the follow up speaker for the Success That Matters seminars. ............................................................................................. Saturday was a good day! It was by far the largest men’s event...we’ve seen in my eight years with Cielo Vista Church. We already have 50+ paid registrants for September. We are at the dawn of a new day in men’s ministry in this region. The Man in the Mirror conference will be a pivot point, a launch into reaching this objective. I appreciate you and your ministry! I've taught and prayed over the past 39 years and have studied the Bible so many times they seemingly fade together.
I mention these things to preface the following comment: I have never heard or been more affected by one man's testimony; before I heard you today! You were able to reach my dark corners and set me on the path to freedom with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! ............................................................................................. Dennis was very well received. A common theme among every one that I spoke to was their ability to relate to Dennis. There was something about Dennis that allowed the listener to relate to him on a more intimate level. Although I've heard many speakers over the years, one thing that made Dennis stand out among these speakers was his ability to blend a good presentation with something that the listener could connect with. It was awesome! 160 men showed and the Holy Spirit used Dennis to minister to them right where they were. While the Holy Spirit worked on men's hearts, Dennis' testimony had men riveted to their chairs. There weren't many dry eyes in the room. With the Holy Spirit fully in charge, 4 men gave their hearts to Jesus Christ!!! As if that wasn't enough; 49 men decided that the lukewarm walk with the Lord wasn't "getting it"; and they re-committed their lives to Christ!! What a great day!! Romans 8:28. Dennis visited our Men's group for breakfast on Saturday morning and just blew the roof off of the place!!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you enough how much of an impact that Dennis had on our group. We had 45 guys together on their knees at the end of the talk and approximately 10 guys gave their life to Christ for the very first time!!! The other 35 guys recommitted their lives to Christ together.on their knees!!! Awesome!! This was a tough audience. These men were traumatized in VietNam and especially at Khe Sanh. Most have had severe problems in the ensuing years coping with their physical and emotional scars against the backdrop of an ungrateful and even hostile nation. Dennis was able to connect with them in an open and transparent way as he told his amazing story of redemption. There were around 120 in the service and for most of the time you could have literally heard a pin drop. Men approached me throughout the day to express their appreciation for Dennis and his message.
